Paola Navone designed Milano around one question: how comfortable can a sofa get? The answer is huge cushions, soft as a cloud, and a 112 cm depth that makes you want to kick off your shoes. Among Baxter sofas it is one of the most comfortable, second only to Budapest Soft and Miami Soft.
The leather is worked like a mattress cover. It is quilted and held by square stitches that dot the whole surface. The thread can match the leather or stand out in white or red, and it changes the sofa's character a lot. Matching, it reads soft and quiet; in red it turns almost graphic.
The comfort rests on serious construction. The back combines differentiated-density foam with goose down, the seat sits on woven rubber straps, and the base is tulipwood painted matt black.
Alongside the sofa there is a 137 cm one-arm sofa with the arm on the left or right, a small swivel armchair and a 100 cm high bergère, which swivels too: the most theatrical piece in the family.
