A thick marble top crossed by fine metal inlays, resting on blades that meet in the middle. Romeo is Roberto Lazzeroni's table for Baxter: a 59-inch square for gathering around a center, or a 94- or 110-inch rectangle for long dinners. No two tops share the same veining. The Baxter Romeo table is by Roberto Lazzeroni, who also designed the Isamu table for Baxter. In Baxter's catalog it now appears as Romeo Stone, and the name tells you where the focus is. Baxter presents it as a piece of lasting elegance that shows off the strength and beauty of natural stone in sculptural form. It calls the top «monumental». The word fits: thick, solid, made to outlast a generation.
The top comes in a wide range of marbles and natural stones. Fine decorative metal inlays run across it. Underneath, the base is made of matte metal blades that slot together at the center of the table, keeping the edges clear for chairs. Every slab has its own veining and color shifts, so no two Romeo tables are alike. That's why we suggest choosing the marble in person.
There are three versions, all 74 cm (29 in) high. The 150 × 150 cm (59 × 59 in) square is a conversation table: everyone sees everyone, and nobody sits at the head. The two rectangles, 240 × 120 cm (94 × 47 in) and 280 × 120 cm (110 × 47 in), suit large dining rooms and also work as a boardroom table in an executive office. If you prefer solid wood from the same designer, compare it with the Baxter Isamu table.
A stone table deserves a careful choice. At our showroom in Messina, Italy, we show you Baxter marble samples and help you pair chairs and lighting. We send a tailored quote fast. And if another authorized Baxter dealer has quoted you for the same Romeo, same size and stone, we'll match it or beat it.
