A soft dream that never touches the ground. Antonio Citterio's Soft Dream rests a slim, leather-clad frame on cast-metal feet and fills it with goose-down cushions to lose yourself in. A chameleon by nature, it changes character with an armrest, a leather colour, a finish for the feet. Contact us for a personal quote on your composition.
Flexform describes Soft Dream in three words: versatile, flexible, chameleon-like. Antonio Citterio designed it in 2010, and it has become one of those sofas you recognise from across the room, thanks to a detail that changes everything: it does not sit on the floor, it floats above it.
The structure is a slim metal frame clad in hide leather, raised on elegant cast-metal feet. Inside this tailored frame sit deep cushions in goose down. It is the meeting of two worlds: the precision of saddlery and the abandon of a bed of feathers. The frame leather comes in tones such as tobacco, sand, olive, mole or chestnut, or in suede; the feet in seven finishes, from bronze to black chrome and matt titanium.
Soft Dream changes character with a few choices. High or low armrests, single or double depth; a standard version, with 94 cm armrests, and Soft Dream Large, with 110 cm armrests, for those who like to sit cross-legged or lie down. There is also a sectional system for corners and large compositions, and a "fit-in" backrest. With a light fabric and bronze feet it feels warm and classic; in dark leather with black chrome it becomes graphic and urban.
The seat cushion is in goose down, with the Assopiuma gold label, around a crushproof insert of different densities; arms and back combine polyurethane foam and goose down; the back cushions are all down. Covers in fabric or leather are fully removable.
Choose the colour of the leather frame together with the fabric: it is the detail that gives Soft Dream its personality. If you love the dialogue between leather and down, have a look at the Flexform Groundpiece sofa, Citterio's icon from 2001.
